One Human Family

The idea of “One Human Family” began in Key West, Florida, with local artist J.T. Thompson. Living in a small island community where people from all over the world come together, J.T. created the words as a reminder that no matter where we come from or how different we may seem, we are all connected. In the early 2000s, the City of Key West officially adopted “One Human Family” as its motto — a reflection of the welcoming spirit of the community and the belief that every person belongs. Today, the message continues to travel far beyond the island, carried by people who believe in kindness, respect, and connection. This story is inspired by that simple but powerful idea — that even one person, sharing a message from the heart, can help bring people together.
